How to Apply for the Excellence Scholarships for Foreign Students (ESFS) Program
Step 1: University Application
- Choose your study program (master’s, doctorate, postdoctoral fellowship, or short research stay) at one of the participating Quebec universities.
- Submit your application directly to the university according to their specific procedures.
- Contact the university’s financial aid office for detailed information on the application process.
Step 2: University Preselection
- If your application is accepted by the university, you will be invited to submit a scholarship application to the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ).
Step 3: Evaluation and Selection by the FRQ
- The FRQ will evaluate your application and select the scholarship recipients.
- The selection results will be announced in February or March of the following year.
Important:
- You must be admitted or in the process of being admitted to a study program in Quebec to be eligible for the ESFS scholarship.
- Each university has its own selection criteria, so it is essential to inquire with the institution of your choice.
