Benefits of the UNIL Excellence Scholarship
Recipients of this scholarship receive a monthly stipend of CHF 1,600 and are exempt from tuition fees. The scholarship covers the standard duration of the chosen master’s program, typically between 1.5 and 2 years, with some exceptions.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the University of Lausanne Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Degree: Hold a foreign university degree equivalent to a Swiss bachelor’s degree.
- Academic Excellence: Demonstrate excellent academic performance.
- Enrollment: Not be currently enrolled at the University of Lausanne.
- Motivation: Show strong motivation for the chosen study program.
- Language Proficiency: Have at least a C1 level in French or C1 level in English.
There is no age limit for this scholarship.

The UNIL Excellence Scholarship applies to most master’s programs. The complete list of eligible master’s programs can be found on the UNIL website here. Note that some programs, such as Master’s in Medicine, Education, and Law, are not covered by this scholarship.

Applications are submitted online via this link: https://fmpsrv03prd.unil.ch/mastergrants_2024/. The scholarship application also serves as the application for the master’s program, so there is no need to submit a separate application.
