The ICT University is seeking candidates for a full-time position within the Finance and Accounting Department. Candidates should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or its equivalent from an accredited university. Additionally, applicants with a Master’s Degree and demonstrated hands-on experience in the financial sector are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be proficient in utilizing relevant software for financial data processing and reporting. This role involves hybrid work arrangements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university; preference given to Master’s Degree holders.
- International Accounting Certification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc., is advantageous.
- Industry experience is highly valued.
Technical Experience, Skills, and Competencies
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of 03 years of experience in the financial industry.
- Proficiency with Systems and Software:
- Demonstrated proficiency with financial management information systems and software.
- Payroll and Tax Preparation:
- Proven track record in preparing payroll, taxes, and CNPS contributions.
- Knowledge Base:
- Solid understanding of the OHADA Accounting System, International Accounting Standards, and International Standards on Auditing.
- Legal Expertise:
- Excellent grasp of Cameroon Tax Laws, Social Security (CNPS) regulations, and Labour Regulations.
- Computer Literacy:
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and proficiency in Accounting and Integrated Project Financial Management Software.
- Communication Skills:
- Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation abilities.
- Numerical Proficiency:
- Strong numerical aptitude with keen attention to detail.
- Financial Reporting:
- Ability to prepare, present, and discuss financial reports clearly and concisely.
- Ethical Standards:
- High ethical and accountability standards.
- Adaptability:
- Willingness to embrace new challenges and continuously learn.
- Pressure Handling and Multitasking:
- Capacity to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Language Skills:
- Fluency in both English and French languages with excellent command of English.
Accounting Officer Responsibilities
- Reporting Structure and Scope
Under the guidance of the Finance Director, the Accounting Officer assumes responsibility for overseeing all accounting operations within the university. The role encompasses a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Key Responsibilities
- Treasury Management and Accounting,
- Oversight of Advances and Their Accounting,
- Management of School Fees Accounting,
- Handling Income and Managing Accounts Receivable,
- Managing Expenses and Accounts Payable,
- Supervising Payroll Operations and Accounting,
- Ensuring Compliance with Tax and Social Security (CNPS) Regulations,
- Internal Control Implementation and Compliance Monitoring,
- Conducting Reconciliations for Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Advance Accounts,
- Preparation of Preliminary Financial Statements, Monthly Management Information Reports, and Any Additional Reports as Mandated by the Board of Trustees.
