K HOTEL Cameroon is seeking a Pastry Chef!
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Pastry Chef will be responsible for crafting exceptional desserts, designing seasonal menus, and innovating new recipes to uphold our high culinary standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee the pastry section of the kitchen, collaborating with the executive and sous chefs to foster a productive team.
- Prepare ingredients and operate baking equipment.
- Create pastries and confections following established recipes.
- Develop innovative recipes for seasonal menus.
- Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure an appealing presentation.
- Consult with clients on custom desserts for special events.
- Manage baking ingredient inventory.
- Order supplies and equipment within budget constraints.
- Uphold health and safety standards.
- Train and supervise staff as needed.
- Adhere to all hotel policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary education from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in pastry-making, baking, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in baking techniques and pastry creation.
- Artistic ability to decorate cakes and desserts.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of sanitation, food preparation, and nutrition.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
