Context
This role will support all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities and contribute to establishing and presenting a standard operating picture of WFP’s program portfolio and associated results. This will enable informed and timely decision-making at all levels within the organization.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Assist staff in the assigned area to ensure adherence to standard OIM & PR procedures and templates, promoting quality, consistency, and standardization in information management and performance reporting across WFP.
- Gather relevant information and data from media and local internal and external sources to facilitate and optimize information and data exchange between functional area networks within WFP. This will provide operational awareness and understanding of events that may have humanitarian and/or operational impacts.
- Support the collection and dissemination of political and humanitarian analysis related to WFP’s current or future responses and donor policies, trends, and preferences, ensuring country-specific input to WFP’s operational reporting.
- Support the collection, analysis, and communication of the ‘Essential Elements of Information’ concerning the operational environment and available human, financial, and physical assets. This will facilitate access to timely and accurate information used at the country, regional, and corporate levels.
- Support the preparation of the Annual Corporate Report (ACR) for the Annual Reporting Exercise in collaboration with the country office program, monitoring & evaluation, logistics, and resource management functions. Coordinate to ensure coherence and quality of performance information.
Responsibilities:
- Internal Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency in humanitarian information and support WFP’s analysis and information initiatives.
- Capacity Building: Enhance the ability of WFP staff and partners to effectively manage operational information and performance reporting, such as by coordinating the delivery of relevant training programs.
- Emergency Support: Provide essential support to Country Offices or Regional Bureaus during emergencies by preparing, organizing, and offering secretarial assistance to Operational Task Forces. Offer feedback on activities related to improving Corporate Performance Reporting.
- OIM & PR Enhancement: Actively contribute to initiatives aimed at developing better, more efficient, and harmonized Operational Information Management & Performance Reporting, including the drafting of related normative guidance as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all processes and products adhere to established quality standards.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Education: A university degree in Sociology, Humanitarian Affairs, International Relations, Social Development, Development Economics, Performance Management, or a related field.
- Experience: At least six years of relevant professional experience, with a background and interest in international Humanitarian Development.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to effectively interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including those in the international humanitarian community and governments.
- Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical skills.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Able to work collaboratively in a team and build effective working relationships with people from different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable working with relevant technology and procedures (e.g., web-based databases and other statistical applications) to collect, organize, share and use information
- Time Management: Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks independently.
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of design or graphic software, data visualization, database management, and analytics and data management software (such as Tableau) is considered an asset.
- Adaptability: Willingness to handle additional tasks as requested by the supervisor.
- Languages: Fluency in English (level C) and knowledge of French.
