About the Role: Receptionist (Full-Time, On-Site)

As a Receptionist, you will be the face of K Hotel Douala, ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued. Your role is crucial in providing a seamless and memorable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly as they arrive and ensure a smooth check-in process.
  • Present and promote hotel services, showcasing all that we offer.
  • Accompany guests to their rooms, offering assistance as needed.
  • Manage reservations and handle invoicing accurately.
  • Facilitate smooth check-outs, ensuring guest satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus.

Main Responsibilities

  • Guest Reception and Check-In/Check-Out: Provide a warm and professional welcome to guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth and friendly check-in and check-out process.
  • Customer Support and Information: Respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel services, facilities, local attractions, and travel itineraries with clarity and enthusiasm.
  • Issue Resolution: Address guest complaints or concerns swiftly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary to maintain satisfaction.
  • Reservation Management: Manage room bookings, cancellations, and modifications efficiently via phone, email, or in person, ensuring all details are accurately recorded in the hotel’s reservation system.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to guarantee rooms are clean, well-maintained, and ready for new arrivals.
  • Payment Processing: Handle payments, generate invoices, and maintain precise records of financial transactions.
  • Special Requests Management: Communicate VIP arrivals and special requests to the appropriate departments to provide personalized service.
  • Problem Solving: Manage and resolve issues such as room changes, billing discrepancies, and special accommodations promptly and effectively.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Maintain a composed and professional demeanor during busy or challenging situations.
  • Promote Hotel Services: Highlight and promote the hotel’s services, facilities, and special offers to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Upselling Opportunities: Identify opportunities to upsell higher room categories, catering services, or additional amenities when suitable.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Expertise in Phone Etiquette and Receptionist Duties
  • Proficient in Clerical Skills and basic Office Management
  • Strong Communication and Customer Service Abilities
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills and a Professional Demeanor
  • Multitasking Skills and the ability to Work Well Under Pressure
  • Previous Experience in the Hospitality Industry is advantageous
  • High National Diploma or Equivalent in Hotel and Catering, Hotel Management; additional qualifications in Office Management are a plus
