- Position: Transportation and Logistics Assistant, SAFE CARE Project – Cameroon

Position Summary: The Transportation and Logistics Assistant is responsible for supporting the organization with all transportation-related tasks. This includes the transportation of staff, collection of various packages, and maintaining detailed travel logs to record working hours, travel durations, and destinations visited. Additionally, the assistant is responsible for conducting routine checks on vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition and ensuring that all transportation duties are executed punctually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport staff and various products and materials to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of products and materials.
- Modify travel routes as needed to bypass traffic jams or roadwork.
- Immediately report any traffic violations issued against the company vehicle during working hours.
- Ensure that the company vehicle is parked in authorized areas to prevent towing.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and well-maintained through regular washing, cleaning, and vehicle servicing.
- Maintain accurate records of the company vehicle’s movements and usage.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage to management promptly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of a high school diploma.
- A valid Category ‘C’ driver’s license.
- Solid understanding of road safety regulations and familiarity with local roads and routes.
- Proficiency in using maps, GPS systems, and vehicle manuals.
- Strong communication skills.
- A clean driving record.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential.
- Fluency in French is required.
- English proficiency is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Computer literacy with practical experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional proficiency in both spoken and written English and French.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a multicultural environment, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for diversity.
