United Bank for Africa (UBA Cameroon) is recruiting a Cash Management Officer – Payment Solutions for its activities.

Job Objectives

The Cash Management Officer will spearhead the development, implementation, and marketing of digital payment solutions, including ATM and Internet Banking services for Retail, Corporate, and Commercial Banking. This role aims to enhance product performance and drive revenue by focusing on various product and solution types. The successful candidate will establish effective policies, procedures, and partnerships to ensure optimal returns for the Bank and a competitive advantage within the industry.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee the profit and loss (P&L) statements for all products and services, providing monthly reports to senior management.
  • Strategic Development: Collaborate with business leaders to create and implement strategic plans for e-Payment products and solutions.
  • Innovation: Identify and introduce innovative services that generate revenue, positioning the Bank as a market leader in product innovation.
  • Product Promotion: Design and promote e-Payment solutions tailored for Retail, Corporate, and Commercial Banking, including incentives to boost adoption and usage.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze the performance of existing and new e-Payment products, working with the marketing team to drive activation, usage, and customer acquisition.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct monthly and quarterly usage analyses of e-Payment products, tracking transaction volumes, revenue, and actual versus target metrics.
  • ROI Reporting: Assess and report on the Return on Investment (ROI) for all current and new e-Payment products and solutions.
  • Market Research: Gather and analyze data on market trends, profitability, pricing, product positioning, and sales strategies.
  • Competitive Analysis: Perform monthly competitive analyses to ensure product positioning and pricing align with industry standards. Assist in developing strategies to sustain and enhance the Bank’s competitive edge.
  • Customer Feedback: Monitor and address customer complaints related to e-Payment products, streamlining processes to enhance product functionality and reliability.
  • Product Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive product information guides detailing features, functions, positioning, and pricing.
  • Training and Support: Provide ongoing training and support for customers and internal staff on e-Payment solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with sales, IT, and Operations teams to identify future product enhancements and ensure seamless implementation of new features.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Phase out underperforming products and develop transition plans as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure all relevant stakeholders are involved in product development and that appropriate service level agreements (SLAs) are established to support product delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local regulations and global best practices, while being familiar with all bank policies across UBA’s operations in each country.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational, compliance, and IT risks associated with product offerings to ensure customer safety.
  • Project Execution: Collaborate with the Digital Banking project management team to execute additional assigned projects.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Customer Satisfaction Index (Internal): 100% Quality Support to the Business
  • Customer Satisfaction Index (External): Rank within the Top 3
  • Overall Digital Banking Products & Solutions Profit Before Tax (PBT): 100% Budget Attainment (Actual vs. Target)
  • Internet Banking Customer Enrollment: 70% Penetration Ratio Achievement
  • Internet Banking Transaction Counts & Values: 80% Budget Attainment (Actual vs. Targets)
  • ATM Transaction Counts & Values: 80% Budget Attainment (Actual vs. Target)
  • e-Payment Product/Solution Portfolio Enhancement: Minimum 10% increase in each channel

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field or relevant professional qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience, with at least 2 years in banking and 2 years in a similar role.

Key Competencies

Knowledge:

  • Extensive understanding of the digital banking environment and products.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and banking operations.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and legal frameworks.

Skills/Aptitudes:

  • Strong business development and sales acumen, with the ability to assess customer needs effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in listening and conducting interviews.
  • Demonstrated leadership and negotiation abilities.
