Job Opportunity: Forum Information Management Officer – Cameroon (NRC)
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is looking for a Forum Information Management Officer to join its team in Cameroon. This role is crucial in managing and optimizing data processes to support the CHINGO Forum’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
- Assist the CHINGO Forum Manager in designing and implementing data collection and analysis tools.
- Oversee data management, ensuring efficient processing and response to requests.
- Drive the technical evolution of information systems, including the development of relevant tools.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Improve and maintain the archiving system for various project activities and components.
- Provide training and technical support on information and data management.
- Ensure the monitoring and regular updating of the project database.
- Act as the primary information focal point for the CHINGO Forum.
Required Qualifications
General Professional Skills:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) in Information Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, or SQL Server, along with expertise in query and programming languages.
- Strong knowledge of communication tools and emerging technologies.
Context-Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills in both English and French, ensuring clear and effective expression in both written and verbal formats. The candidate should possess excellent research abilities and the capacity for synthesis, enabling them to grasp complex issues quickly. Active listening skills are essential, as is the ability to understand and respond appropriately to others’ viewpoints.
What We Offer:
- A 12-month renewable contract, subject to the availability of funds.
- The position is based in Yaoundé, with approximately 20% travel to field locations.
- Salary and Benefits: Compensation is based on Grade 5, Step 1 of the NRC Cameroon salary scale.
