Job Overview
United Bank for Africa (UBA) is seeking a Head of Corporate Banking to drive business growth in Cameroon by engaging with multinational corporations, large enterprises, and institutional clients. The ideal candidate will leverage UBA’s comprehensive financial solutions to support corporate clients and expand market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Identify and onboard corporate clients while maintaining strong relationships to drive business growth.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring they receive tailored financial services and advisory support.
- Market Expansion: Develop strategic partnerships with conglomerates and industry leaders to strengthen UBA’s position in the corporate banking sector.
- Customer Retention & Service Excellence: Act as the primary contact for key clients, delivering world-class financial solutions that align with their business needs.
- Sales & Business Development: Collaborate with the Product Development Team to design and implement sales strategies that cater to evolving client demands.
- Deposit & Investment Growth: Strengthen customer relationships to enhance deposit growth and investment portfolios.
- Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Assess industry trends and competitor strategies to maximize UBA’s market share.
- Risk Asset Growth: Recommend and manage profitable risk assets to increase branch profitability.
- Credit & Investment Monitoring: Oversee customer investments and credit facilities, ensuring optimal returns and risk mitigation.
- Debt Recovery: Lead initiatives to recover non-performing loans and improve overall portfolio health.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achieve 100% of annual Corporate Banking PBT targets.
- Meet or exceed set goals for deposits, risk assets, fees, commissions, and client conversions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Certifications: Professional certifications in relevant fields are an advantage.
- Experience: At least 8 years in marketing, credit analysis, and relationship management, with 5+ years in a leadership role.

- Strong understanding of global macroeconomic trends and financial markets.
- In-depth knowledge of UBA’s banking products and services.
- Expertise in corporate value chains and industry dynamics.
- Solid foundation in credit risk analysis.
