Job Objective

The Head of Marketing & Brand Communication is responsible for developing and executing a bold and results-driven marketing and communications strategy that strengthens the UBA brand in line with the Group’s global vision. The role also aims to foster an exceptional customer service culture across the Bank, both internally and externally.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Marketing, Brand & Communication Strategy

  • Develop, implement, and manage the Bank’s overall marketing, brand, and communication strategy.
  • Design and execute comprehensive marketing and brand development initiatives to drive market penetration across targeted sub-segments, including brand positioning, product appeal, social media engagement, and promotional campaigns.
  • Champion all marketing and promotional activities targeted at product-based market segments.

Business Growth & Customer Engagement

  • Drive customer acquisition and ensure long-term customer retention.
  • Ensure optimal product uptake and usage across the Bank’s customer base.
  • Continuously improve marketing communication approaches and develop incentive programs to support the sales team in achieving performance targets.

Customer Service & Stakeholder Management

  • Promote a strong customer service culture across all levels of the Bank.
  • Resolve key customer service issues related to marketing communication deployment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Performance Monitoring & Industry Awareness

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of promotional initiatives to ensure profitability.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on marketing and communication strategies when required.
  • Stay informed on emerging industry trends, digital platforms, and best practices.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of new customers acquired through marketing channels
  • Profitability generated from promotional initiatives
  • Average number of products per customer

Qualifications Required

Education

  • Minimum of a First Degree in Creative Arts, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • A higher degree (MBA), professional certifications, or equivalent qualifications are mandatory.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of combined management and communications experience in a structured organization.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing marketing, communications, and public relations strategies.
