United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) is recruiting a Payroll and Compensation Benefits Officer to join his team in Cameroon.

Role Overview:
As the Payroll and Compensation Benefits Officer, you will be responsible for managing the monthly payroll process, administering employee compensation and benefits, and ensuring full compliance with both internal policies and government regulations. You will also be involved in providing insights into compensation strategies, managing staff loans, and supporting the HR platform (HCM Connect, HCM Automation). This role is crucial in fostering a transparent, efficient, and secure environment for all staff-related financial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Monthly Payroll: Ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for all employees.
- Mission Expenses: Process all mission-related expenses in line with bank policies.
- Analyze Compensation & Benefits: Review compensation policies, government regulations, and industry wage standards.
- Statistical Analysis: Evaluate data and reports to identify potential issues and underlying causes of personnel-related challenges.
- Employee Communication: Lead the preparation and dissemination of information regarding benefits, compensation, and personnel policies to staff.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely reporting of all payroll and compensation data as required by government regulations.
- Staff Loan Management: Oversee the processing and approval of staff loan requests.
- Payslip Distribution: Ensure employees receive their payslips on time every month.
- Internship Allowances: Manage allowances and benefits for interns.
- Staff Coordination: Supervise the day-to-day operations of staff members related to compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
- HR Platform Management: Manage the HCM platform, acting as a liaison between IT and HR to resolve issues and provide user support.
- Exit Management: Handle the proper exit procedures for departing employees, ensuring all HR policies are followed.
Required Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of compensation and benefits principles.
- Familiarity with tax administration in Cameroon.

- Timeliness and accuracy in payroll validation.
- Data completeness of employee records.
- Prompt delivery of staff data and HR reports.
- Availability and accuracy of data for the HR dashboard.
- Quality and timeliness of reports.
- Resolution time for issues related to HCM platform.
- Employee satisfaction with benefits and payroll services.
- Compliance with staff loan processing policies.
- Efficiency in processing staff claims.
Education Requirements:
- A university degree in Accounting or any related field in the Social Sciences with a focus on numerical analysis.
Experience:
- At least 4-7 years of relevant experience in Compensation Strategy Development and Management within large organizations.
