The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. It promotes knowledge of the German language abroad, fosters international cultural cooperation and conveys a comprehensive image of Germany by providing information about cultural, social and political life in Germany.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
- Developing Goethe-Institut Kamerun’s strategic and conceptual framework for public relations and consolidating efforts in this field, in agreement with the institute’s Management;
- Coordinating and independently implementing the public relations actions of the institute as a whole, in agreement with relevant departments; producing content (footage, sound, text, formatting, etc.); conducting editorial supervision for newspaper and online articles, including translations, and publishing content via Goethe-Institut Kamerun’s communication channels (website, social media, distribution of newspaper and newsletter articles), etc.;
- Developing actions to support projects on social media, in agreement with relevant departments;
- Coordinating Community Management of social media, in collaboration with relevant departments;
- Providing counsel and support to all departments in the area of public relations;
- Contributing to internal communication;
- Establishing and building relations with the press (newspapers, radio stations, television channels and online media);
- Coordinating collaboration with major external service providers (layout designers, printers, photographers, CMS, etc.);
- Carrying out administrative tasks, including price comparison, accounting, reporting…;
- Coordinating and implementing evaluation and reporting activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- Successful completion of university studies (Bachelor’s degree) in communication and marketing sciences or a similar academic field;
- Several years of professional experience;
- Project management experience in different fields;
- Computer skills (MS-Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), extended knowledge of image processing and video editing programs desirable;
- Very good knowledge of social media and ability to apply it in a professional setting;
- Readiness to adapt to the Goethe-Institut’s software system;
- High level of proficiency in French and English. Knowledge of German is an advantage;
- Very good communication skills;
- Very good intercultural and social skills;
- Flexibility, and ability to handle heavy workloads;
- Ability to work independently.
