Contract Opportunity

The High Commission of Canada in Yaoundé, Cameroon, is inviting qualified and interested candidates to apply for the position of Readiness Coordinator (RC) on a contractual basis.

Purpose:
  • We are inviting all interested and qualify applicants to apply for the Readiness Coordinator Contract at the High Commission of Canada in Cameroon.

  • Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  • Experience in security and emergency management within an international non-governmental organization (INGO), diplomatic mission, or reputable security company in Cameroon.
Experience in supervising contracted guards.
 
Official Languages: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French, orally and in writing.
 
IT Skills: A professional Mastery of the MS Office Suit.
 
Main Tasks and Background:
 
The Readiness Coordinator will support the High Commission of Canada Readiness/Security Team with following task:
  • Ensuring contractual compliance on the security guard contract.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating the Mission Emergency Plan (MEP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Guard Post Orders (GPO), and Movement Protocols.
  • Assist in conducting security surveys of Staff Quarters (SQs).
  • Support the implementation of selected countermeasures recommended from assessment visits.
  • Attend training sessions provided to guards by the service provider to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Conduct tests and update documentation for PSRN, and SAT phones.
  • Review and maintain first aid and emergency kits.
  • Assist with other related security management tasks.
Main Specifications:
 
Contract Period: 1st October 2026 to 31st March 2027.
 
Requirements:
 
Reliability Status (RS) Security Screening.
 
Asset Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong sense of punctuality and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to perform tasks efficiently while meeting established timelines.
