What We Do

Grassland Cameroon is an agricultural storage, drying, and distribution company. We partner with smallholder farmers, providing them with input loans and agricultural training throughout the season. After harvest, we process their crops into standardized, high-quality products, which we distribute to buyers across Cameroon. Since our founding, we’ve supported over 1,000 farmers and cultivated more than 300 hectares of farmland.

Position Overview: Procurement Officer

Grassland Cameroon Ltd is hiring a mid-level procurement professional to manage the purchasing of goods and services that support both our commercial operations and internal needs. This individual will be responsible for acquiring the best quality products at competitive prices, while ensuring compliance with company standards and timelines.

This role combines both administrative and field responsibilities. You’ll engage in policy development, vendor management, negotiation, and logistics oversight. It requires significant travel within the Centre region and other agricultural zones, with approximately 70% of time spent in rural areas.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Strategy & Execution

• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement procurement policies

• Lead recruitment, training, and management of procurement staff

• Oversee seasonal and ad hoc grain procurement from farmers and vendors

• Build and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships

Inventory & Vendor Management

• Design and manage a comprehensive inventory tracking system

• Maintain an up-to-date vendor database

• Coordinate timely procurement and delivery of all inputs required for farming seasons

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, ideally in agribusiness or the brewery sector

• Expertise in varied procurement methods (single-source, tenders, RFPs)

• Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize effectively

• Fluent in English and French (spoken and written)

• Strong negotiation, data management, and analytical skills

• Proficient in tools like Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, Word, and Dropbox

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
