About the Danish Refugee Council

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to supporting refugees, internally displaced persons and other communities affected by displacement and conflict.

DRC provides emergency assistance, promotes the rights of displaced populations and works to strengthen their ability to build safer and more sustainable futures. The organization operates in conflict-affected areas, along displacement routes and in communities hosting displaced people. In collaboration with local communities and partners, DRC works to develop responsible and sustainable solutions that promote inclusion, protection and dignity.

Founded in Denmark in 1956, DRC has grown into a major international humanitarian organization with more than 7,000 employees and 8,000 volunteers. Headquartered in Copenhagen, the organization operates in approximately 40 countries and is independent, non-profit, politically neutral and non-denominational.

DRC’s work is guided by its vision of ensuring a life with dignity for all displaced people worldwide. Its humanitarian action is built around the principles of humanity, respect, independence, neutrality, participation, honesty and transparency.

About DRC Cameroon

DRC began its operations in Cameroon in 2018, under the coordination of its regional office in Dakar and in connection with its humanitarian response in the neighbouring Central African Republic.

The organization initially focused on addressing the needs of refugees from the Central African Republic and vulnerable Cameroonian communities in the Adamawa Region.

Later in 2018, DRC’s Mobile Emergency Team (EMPACT) expanded the organization’s presence to the South-West Region in response to the humanitarian situation linked to the Anglophone crisis. Humanitarian activities in the region officially started in January 2019.

Today, DRC Cameroon implements humanitarian programmes covering areas such as protection, food security and livelihoods, with operations in the Adamawa, East and South-West regions.

As part of its ongoing activities, DRC Cameroon is seeking to recruit a Driver for its office in Bamenda.
