JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary objective of this role is to provide essential support to the project team for the seamless execution of daily project activities. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on ICLA Activities within the South-West Region. Reporting directly to the ICLA Coordinator, they will receive comprehensive support for the successful implementation of all pertinent activities.

Generic Responsibilities

  1. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.
  2. Provision of support to project participants in dire need of protection, facilitating access to HLP and LCD rights.
  3. Contribution to the promotion of IDPs/returnees’ rights, aligning with the advocacy strategy.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Active participation in project implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  2. Execution of community mobilization activities and identification of beneficiaries’ needs related to Housing, Land, and Property (HLP), as well as Legal and Civil Documentation (LCD).
  3. Organization of sensitization sessions in project locations to raise awareness among beneficiaries regarding their rights to HLP and Legal Identity.
  4. Participation in the organization and facilitation of training workshops with stakeholders on Housing, Land, and Property (HLP), Collaborative Dispute Resolution, and Legal Identity.
  5. Regular updating of data collection tools throughout all phases of ICLA project implementation, such as Results Tracking Tools and Information Forms.
  6. Collaborative work with personnel from all NRC Core Competencies.
  7. Ensuring accurate archiving of reports, case management tools, and other sensitive ICLA documents.
  8. Generation of pertinent ICLA reports and completion of any other related tasks as requested by the hierarchy.
  9. Assistance in the design of tools for needs identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the response.
  10. Fulfillment of any other tasks pertinent to the position as instructed by the supervisor.

Generic Professional Competencies

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Political Science, Humanitarian Action, International Relations, or a closely related field.
  2. Practical Experience:
    • Demonstrated practical experience in planning and executing protection projects, with a minimum of 2 years working in humanitarian or development programs.
    • Previous professional engagement in complex and unstable contexts.
    • Proven track record of successfully fulfilling job responsibilities.
  3. Language Proficiency:
    • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
  4. Report Writing Skills:
    • Proficiency in report writing.

Context/Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  1. Local Context Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of the humanitarian context in the NW/SW regions, including understanding local customs, habits, and language.
  2. Collaborative Experience:
    • Previous experience working collaboratively with partners, such as local NGOs.
  3. Results Documentation:
    • Documented achievements related to the specific responsibilities of the position.
  4. Analytical and Computer Skills:
    • Proficiency in analytical and computer skills, including MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
  5. Resource Management:
    • Demonstrated ability in managing resources and achieving results.
  6. Goal-Oriented and Visionary:
    • Goal-oriented with a visionary mindset.
  7. Work Ethics:
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision.

Offer Details

  1. Commencement:
    • Starting date: March 2024.
  2. Contract Duration:
    • Duration of the contract: 12 months, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon the availability of funds.
  3. Salary/Benefits:
    • Salary and benefits as per NRC’s Salary Grid, with a 90% health insurance coverage.
  4. Duty Station:
  • Duty station: Buea.
