Location: Limbe

Marcsons Hotel, a leading name in the hospitality industry in Limbe, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join his Finance Department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional accuracy, integrity, and a strong commitment to upholding financial best practices within a dynamic hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and analyze financial records, statements, and reports.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and file tax returns and statutory declarations in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor and manage budgets, expenditures, and cash flow to support operational efficiency.
• Ensure full compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and tax laws.
• Collaborate with the internal controller during audits and maintain accurate audit documentation.
• Manage and update inventory records and fixed asset registers.
• Process payroll in coordination with HR, ensuring timely and accurate staff compensation and benefits management.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management decision-making.
• Support procurement processes and track departmental expenses to optimize spending.
• Recommend and implement cost-saving strategies to enhance financial planning and profitability.

Skills and Competencies

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes in the hospitality sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience (hospitality industry experience preferred).
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
