Call for Volunteer Tutors (Teaching Assistants) at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Cameroon
AIMS Cameroon, a leading center for postgraduate education in the quantitative sciences, is seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong background in mathematical sciences to volunteer as tutors (teaching assistants) for the 2024-2025 academic year.
About AIMS
The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is a pan-African network of centers of excellence dedicated to preparing talented African graduates for careers in research, industry, and government. The AIMS model is based on a unique, intensive 10-month postgraduate program that provides students with a solid foundation in mathematical sciences and equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle Africa’s most pressing challenges.
Applicants should showcase their experience in teaching university-level mathematics or related fields, including grading and delivering constructive feedback. They should also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with competence in administration and time management.
Working as a tutor at an AIMS center offers a unique chance to collaborate closely with distinguished scientists from across the globe. These centers attract top educators worldwide to teach a comprehensive one-year Master’s program in mathematical sciences, designed to prepare students for advanced postgraduate research.
