About EVIHDAF
EVIHDAF is an international research and development organization with headquarters in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Our mission is to serve the West and Central Africa region by conducting impactful research and promoting sustainable development. We have assembled a diverse team of English and French-speaking researchers who possess innovative thinking, rigorous research skills, and a global perspective combined with local expertise. Our network also includes regional and global consultants, often with connections to universities. In addition to our headquarters, we have a USAID-funded project office in Niamey, Niger, and a Data Unit in Parakou, Benin.

Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Project Communications Officer. This role is pivotal within our communications team and will be primarily responsible for executing EVIHDAF’s communications strategy related to our projects. The Project Communications Officer will report to the Communications and Knowledge Management Officer. This position is based in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and requires flexibility and strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support in managing project communications.
- Assist in developing and publishing project-related content on various platforms, including our website and social media channels.
- Contribute to the production of diverse communication materials, including banners, printed documents, and posters.
- Write, edit, and format project documents and other communication tools as required.
- Facilitate knowledge management and sharing initiatives.
- Assist in organizing training sessions and workshops.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in communications and implement those insights into our projects and activities.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in communications, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications or translations, ideally related to global health in low- and middle-income countries.
- Familiarity with global health issues (family planning, reproductive health, nutrition, food security, malaria, etc.) in low- and middle-income countries.
- Excellent French writing and editing skills.
- Strong English writing and editing skills.
- Ability to craft engaging and well-structured narratives, stories, and other materials for diverse audiences.
- Good knowledge of website and social media content development techniques, with familiarity with WordPress CMS a plus.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, DeepL Translate, Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign), and other relevant applications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
