Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data & Survey Research Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in quantitative research and evaluation design, survey methodology, data management, and research dissemination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand EVIHDAF’s survey research capabilities by identifying and securing new projects from various funding sources.
- Lead or oversee the collection and in-depth analysis of quantitative data within existing projects.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences to promote knowledge sharing.
- Actively contribute to the translation of research findings into policy and practice.
- Collaborate in the development, implementation, and refinement of project work plans.
- Provide support in the development of research proposals.
Qualifications:
- PhD in economics, statistics, demography, the social sciences, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in survey research related to family planning/reproductive health, maternal and child health, nutrition, and similar areas.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and conducting various quantitative research activities, including data analysis, reporting, and dissemination.
- Proven experience in key survey research roles, such as Survey Methodologist, Sampling Statistician, Data Manager, or Data Analyst.
- Proficient in econometric methods for evaluation and advanced statistical analysis.
- Experience in designing and implementing electronic data collection systems utilizing tools like Open Data Kit (ODK) Collect/Aggregate.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in both English and French.
- Interest or experience in capacity building and training in evaluation research.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex research concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-orientated.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong scientific writing and presentation skills, with a proven history of publication in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
- Experience in developing or leading proposal development for survey research projects.
- Prior work experience in countries within the West and Central Africa region.
- Familiarity with US-funded projects and the ability to collaborate effectively with U.S. government agencies and other technical organizations.
