ActivSpaces is Seeking a Project Manager!

We are searching for a skilled Project Manager to become part of our vibrant team at our Douala incubator.

In this role, you will oversee and coordinate various projects and events within the incubator, ensuring they are executed successfully and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities of an Incubator Project Manager

1. Project Management: The primary responsibility of an incubator project manager is to plan, organize, and supervise all projects within the incubator. This entails ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with their objectives.
2. Internal Coordination: Effective communication and coordination among various teams are essential for the success of incubator projects. The project manager works closely with teams involved in mentoring, financing, business development, and other areas to facilitate smooth collaboration and synergy.
3. Resource Management: Allocating resources appropriately is crucial to meet the specific needs of each project. The project manager carefully considers the requirements of each initiative and optimizes the utilization of available resources for maximum efficiency.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: To gauge project progress and identify potential issues, the project manager establishes monitoring and evaluation mechanisms. Regular monitoring allows for timely interventions and corrective actions if necessary.
5. Stakeholder Management: Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is a vital aspect of the project manager’s role. This includes entrepreneurs, investors, strategic partners, academic institutions, and other relevant parties. Building and nurturing these relationships contributes to the overall success of the incubator.

Required Qualifications for a Project Manager in the Tech Incubation Sector

1. Relevant Experience: The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in the tech incubation sector or a similar environment. This experience demonstrates the candidate’s familiarity with the unique challenges and dynamics of managing projects in a fast-paced and innovative setting.
2. Strong Project Management Skills: The candidate must possess excellent project management skills, including the ability to effectively plan, organize, execute, and follow up on projects. These skills are essential for ensuring successful project delivery within established timelines and budgets.
3. Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in both French and English, both written and spoken, is a requirement for this position. Clear and effective communication in both languages is necessary to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and effectively convey project-related information.
4. Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to collaborate and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams is vital for fostering a positive and productive working environment.
5. Tech and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Knowledge: A solid understanding of the tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem is highly desirable for this role.
