• Job Title: Performance Management Officer
• Department: FINCON
• Reporting Line: Team Lead, Performance Management
• Location: Douala

Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor the bank’s strategic plan to ensure performance indicators are achieved across various departments, under the supervision of the Team Lead, Performance Management.
• Support the development and implementation of strategies to drive revenue growth.
• Design and implement performance evaluation frameworks.
• Conduct detailed analyses of staff performance to identify deviations from plans and present findings to the Head of Human Capital Management.
• Manage the performance appraisal process by administering clearly defined policies and procedures.
• Assist in organizing appraisal review meetings and monitor the implementation of recommendations, under the supervision of the Team Lead, Performance Management.
• Conduct industry surveys on staff performance.

Knowledge Requirements

• Understanding of UBA’s organizational structure
• Practical and broad knowledge of policies, methods, systems, and processes
• Knowledge of career management principles
• Familiarity with the Vision platform
• Strong understanding of performance management

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Turnaround time for addressing grievance issues arising from appraisal exercises
• Variance between the planned and actual timelines of the performance appraisal process
• Timeliness in submitting periodic appraisal reports

Education Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any Social Science discipline
• Professional certification in Accounting or Finance is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant professional experience

• Job Title: Tax Management Officer
• Department: FINCON
• Reporting Line: Chief Finance Officer
• Location: Douala

Roles & Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Planning

• Oversee the bank’s tax compliance and planning activities.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations while optimizing the bank’s tax position to minimize liabilities.
• Manage monthly and annual tax filings.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure accurate reporting and effective tax planning.

Tax Advisory & Support

• Provide expert advice and guidance to internal teams on tax-related matters.
• Monitor and stay up to date with changes in tax legislation that may impact the bank’s operations.
• Deliver training sessions to staff on regulatory updates and innovations in taxation.

Tax Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and post entries in relevant general ledger accounts (payroll taxes, Corporate Income Tax, VAT, and other taxes).
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities for tax accounts.
• Review and approve tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.

Tax Audits & Investigations

• Ensure internal self-audits are conducted prior to any tax authority audit notifications.
• Review and assess the bank’s tax exposure during audits and investigations, and provide guidance on positions taken.
• Prepare and provide documentation to support the bank’s position during audits and investigations.
• Ensure timely response and objection to assessments raised by tax authorities or other regulatory bodies.
• Respond to queries from tax administrations and other revenue authorities, including desk and general accounting audits.
• Obtain management approval and facilitate the settlement of confirmed tax liabilities.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulatory requirements in Cameroon
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Cameroon tax platforms and Microsoft Office tools
• Strong communication skills; bilingual proficiency in French and English is an advantage

Education & Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, with preference for:
  1. LLM in Taxation (for candidates with a legal background)
  2. MSc in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance
  3. MBA with a specialization in Finance or Tax Strategy
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CTA are an advantage, or a recognized national tax certification in Cameroon

Experience

• 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in taxation
