UdeM Tuition Exemption Scholarship Amounts
The Université de Montréal tuition exemption scholarships are awarded based on the excellence of the candidate’s academic record. The amount varies depending on the level of study:
Bachelor’s (Licence):
- Level A (high excellence): $13,340.40 per year ($6,670.20 per semester or $444.68 per credit).
- Level B (excellence): $6,357.60 per year ($3,178.80 per semester or $211.92 per credit).
Master’s (Maîtrise):
- With thesis or dissertation (research): $15,149.70 per year ($5,049.90 per semester or $336.66 per credit).
- Without thesis or dissertation (coursework): $10,474.65 per year ($3,491.55 per semester or $232.77 per credit).
Doctoral (Ph.D.): $22,241.25 per year ($7,413.75 per semester or $494.25 per credit).
UdeM Exemption Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these scholarships, you must:
- Be an international student (excluding France and Belgium).
- Have received an offer of admission to UdeM.
- Hold the required study permits (CAQ and study permit).
- Be enrolled full-time for the entire duration of your program.
- Not benefit from another tuition exemption.
- Not be enrolled in an independent study program or certain specific programs.

- Track your application: Access your Student Centre to follow the progress of your file and receive your admission decision.
- Accept the offer of admission: If you are admitted, accept the offer so that your file can be evaluated for the scholarship.
- Receive your decision: You will be informed by email of the amount of the scholarship you have been awarded, if applicable.
