Eligibility Requirements

UMGF Fellowship Amounts
Students enrolled in a master’s program receive an annual fellowship of 14,000 CAD for a duration of 12 or 24 months. Doctoral students receive 18,000 CAD per year for 12, 24, 36, or 48 months.

Application Process
All students accepted into a master’s or doctoral program at the University of Manitoba are eligible. The deadlines for registration in master’s or doctoral programs at the University of Manitoba are as follows:
- For the Summer 2025 semester (starting in May 2025): the deadline is October 1st, 2024.
- For the Fall 2025 semester (starting in September 2025): the deadline is March 1st, 2025.
After the selection made by the department or unit, the latter recommends the candidates to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. The FGS then sends an official email to inform the successful candidates.
