Call for Applications – University of Twente Scholarship (Netherlands) 2026

The University of Twente, a renowned public institution consistently ranked among the top 200 universities worldwide, officially announces the call for applications for its prestigious scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year.

This scholarship is exclusively open to international students from non-EU/EEA countries. Dutch nationals as well as students already enrolled at the University of Twente are not eligible.

Awardees will have the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree (MSc) program taught entirely in English at this university of excellence.

Number and Amount of Scholarships

• A total of 50 scholarships will be awarded.
• Value: between €3,000 and €22,000 for a duration of one academic year.
• The scholarship is designed to support students in covering study-related expenses, such as: tuition fees, living costs, other personal needs.

Beneficiaries enjoy full freedom of use of the scholarship funds.

Application Deadlines

• 1st round: February 1, 2026
• 2nd round: May 1, 2026

Scholarship Renewal Possibility: The scholarship may be renewed for a second year if the student meets the academic conditions set by the University.

Additional Scholarship – Kipaji

In addition to the main award, selected students may qualify for the Kipaji Scholarship, exclusively granted to those already awarded the University of Twente Scholarship.

• Additional value: up to €12,000: Applicants must also meet the specific criteria of the Kipaji Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the University of Twente Scholarship, applicants must:

• Obtain a prior academic admission letter
• Be admitted (provisionally or fully) to an eligible Master’s program for the 2026/2027 academic year (September intake)
• Allow up to 8 weeks for the admission results after submission
• Hold a valid entry visa for the Netherlands
• Meet the English language requirements:
• IELTS Academic: minimum 6.5 (with no section below 6.0)
• or TOEFL iBT: minimum 90 (with speaking score ≥ 20)

Not eligible:

• Students who are EU/EEA nationals
• Dutch students
• Currently enrolled students at the University of Twente

Application Procedure

• Apply to an eligible Master’s program at the University of Twente
• After receiving the official admission letter, obtain a student number
• Use this student number to complete the University of Twente Scholarship application form
