Call for Applications: ASU Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program
160 Fully Funded Scholarships by Arizona State University in 2025 for Young African Professionals
The ASU Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program, in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU), is pleased to announce a call for applications. A total of 160 fully funded scholarships are available for young African professionals seeking to pursue a Master’s degree focused on technology and innovation.
Application Deadline: March 9, 2025 (for Fall 2025 intake).
About the ASU Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program
This third phase of the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program at Arizona State University (ASU) represents a significant step forward in empowering young African leaders. The initiative is designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive sustainable and innovative development across the continent.
- Strengthened Impact: Building on the success of previous phases, this program aims to support 700 young talents between 2024 and 2030.
- Diverse Learning Opportunities: The program offers on-campus and online degrees, English language courses in partnership with African institutions, and specialized certificates in Supply Chain Management and Global Business Management.
- A Springboard for the Future: Through these programs, ASU equips young Africans with technological, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills, enabling them to adapt and thrive in an ever-evolving global landscape.
ASU Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Program
In collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU), the Mastercard Foundation is offering 160 graduate scholarships between 2025 and 2030. Scholars will complete their studies online, with personalized support and in-person mentorship provided by Kepler College in Rwanda. This approach combines the flexibility of distance learning with individualized guidance and structured community engagement.
Benefits of the ASU Mastercard Foundation Scholarships
Scholars will receive:
- Full coverage of tuition fees
- On-campus accommodation
- A two-month immersion experience at ASU in the United States
- Academic and professional support throughout the two-year program
- Personalized mentorship, leadership development, and access to enriching events and initiatives
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Meet academic requirements and demonstrate English proficiency
- Be an African citizen committed to ethical leadership and community engagement
- Be between 18 and 33 years old
- Exhibit strong leadership, service, and academic excellence
- Obtain an undergraduate degree no later than July 2025
- Not have started or completed any graduate studies before August 2025
- Reside in Kigali, Rwanda, for the entire duration of the program
