Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Tax Associate has the responsibility of supporting the team in execution of tax processes, in accordance with current legislation and within per-established deadlines.

RESPONSABILITIES

  •  Responsible for highly tax technical and complex tax compliance work for all countries in Africa, with special focus on OHADA countries;
  •  Assessment of companies’ internal procedures to identify and mitigate eventual risks and uncertain tax positions;
  •  Involvement in general taxes issues, especially regarding tax compliance matters;
  •  Provide technical support to the Tax Controversy group in relation to the various tax audits and controversy cases;
  •  Collaborate with other functional tax and finance groups to provide an integrated approach to support business needs;
  •  Technical assistance on tax projects on a demand basis.

Who we are looking for

  •  Bachelor’s Degree is required
  •  Certification or Master’s in Taxation and Accounting is required
  •  MBA, and/or LL.M with concentration in tax is an advantage
  •  Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax accounting and compliance experience
  •  OHADA training and experience are required
  •  Experience in a corporate environment with global operations, Audit companies (Big Four)
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Ability to perform critical analysis, prioritize and problem solving
  •  Strong interpersonal skills with ability to foster a collaborative, team environment and matrix organizations
  •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to thrive in a change environment
  •  Results oriented: demonstrate ability to handle multiple projects, effectively prioritize, and execute
  •  Fluent written and spoken English & French

  •  Willingness to travel
