Job Opportunity: African Schools Program Manager at CAF

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is seeking an African Schools Program Manager to lead the transformation of school-level football across the continent. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Assessment:
- Support the Director of Member Associations in evaluating the current Championship Model.
- Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing championship structure, including rules and regional participation mechanisms.
- Collect valuable input from key stakeholders such as football federations, schools, coaches, students, and educational authorities across Africa.
- Analyze the alignment of the championship with current youth football development trends and global best practices.
- Define clear, measurable goals and KPIs for the championship (e.g., participation rates, player development, media exposure).
- Develop a roadmap for implementing the new model, including key phases, timelines, and resource needs.
- Assess the national-level implementation of school football championships and advise on logistics and operational requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Consultation:
- Collaborate with African football federations, school networks, sports governing bodies, and development partners to gather feedback and ensure alignment with national and regional goals.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their expectations and needs.
- Identify regional challenges (e.g., infrastructure, funding, gender inclusion, talent access) that influence the effectiveness of school football programs.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in sports management, education, international development, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in football development, sports management, or youth football programs, preferably in Africa or other developing regions.
- Proven experience in football competition structures, particularly at the grassroots or school level.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders—from local schools to international organizations.
- Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities, capable of working with diverse communities across Africa.
- A proactive, results-oriented mindset, focusing on practical and actionable outcomes.
