TEFON HR SARL is seeking to hire an Assistant Maintenance Technician.
Job Purpose/Summary
The Assistant Maintenance Technician is responsible for acquiring operational and maintenance skills while providing assistance in preventive maintenance. They will support the maintenance crew in their daily operations.
Main Mission/Result Area
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations, and consistently use available safety equipment.
- Keep equipment clean and maintain it in good condition.
- Manually handle, install, position, and move materials, as well as manipulate objects.
- Assist in barricading work areas and erecting signage to ensure safety.
- Multitask and provide assistance to other trades when necessary.
- Regularly inspect equipment, structures, or materials and report any abnormal situations to supervisors.
- Operate mechanized devices or equipment, including running, maneuvering, and navigating.
- Assist in rigging to guide crane operators in moving loads on the deck and control machines and processes.
- Promptly report any oil, chemical, or material spills and take appropriate containment measures.
HSSE Accountabilities
- Participate in all HSSE intervention schemes (APIPP, incident reporting, site visits) and awareness sessions (HSSE meetings, events, and trainings) to uphold and enhance Company HSSE culture and performance.
- Understand the emergency procedures and related requirements.
The incumbent may be assigned other related duties as needed.
Key Challenges
- Stay updated on mechanical systems, relevant regulations, and equipment by referring to technical journals, books, operating manuals, and other reference materials.
- Ability to learn and acquire new skills.
- Adapt to working in difficult and confined environments.
- Develop operational and maintenance skills and assist in preventive maintenance.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Educational Background and Experience
- Candidates must possess either a GCE Advance Level or BAC Technique, along with a minimum of 4 years of working experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Alternatively, candidates with a GCE O Level or CAP qualification are also eligible, provided they have a substantial working experience of 10-15 years in the oil and gas industry, demonstrating diverse exposure.
- Entry Point and Responsibilities
- Successful candidates will be assigned to the Operations department as new recruits.
- The primary responsibility will be to carry out daily duties and tasks related to operations.
- Language Proficiency
- Proficiency in both English and French languages is required.
- Candidates should be able to effectively communicate in both languages.

- The ability to maintain a high level of safety awareness and adhere to safety standards is essential in performing daily duties and tasks.
