Job Mission / Objective

Deliver precise and efficient management of debtors discounting.

Reports to: Head of Trade Finance

Impact on Business Results:

  • Provide a high level of service
  • Mitigate risks by accurately managing receivables
  • Establish and maintain necessary systems, procedures, and controls

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Quantitative:

  • Processing debtors discounting transactions
  • Verifying invoices
  • Contributing to FAM

Qualitative:

  • Client satisfaction
  • Effective operational risk management
  • Adherence to correct processes and procedures

Main Responsibilities

Establish a robust debtor discounting operation:

  • Implement all required standard operating procedures
  • Deploy a debtors management system
  • Oversee daily operations of debtors management
  • Collaborate with the Trade Sales team on FAMs for debtors discounting limits
  • Ensure accurate charging of fees and interest
  • Generate performance reports
  • Maintain a clean audit record

Business Planning and Decision Making:

  • Develop sales plans to meet annual revenue targets
  • Provide pipeline reports
  • Prepare credit papers
  • Set pricing strategies

Additional Role Elements

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Work Experience:

  • At least 8 years of experience in trade sales, specializing in debtors discounting, invoice discounting, and factoring

Skills / Specialized Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of managing debtors books, including addressing late payments and other issues
  • Ability to provide risk insights related to FAM, such as concentration risk
  • Expertise in the field
  • A solid understanding of import finance and stock finance is a plus
