Position Title: Finance and Administration Officer
Reports to: Executive Director
Contract Type and Duration: Fixed-term contract for 12 months, with a 3-month probationary period and the possibility of extension based on funding availability.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a break from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm)
Location: Yaounde 5
Gross Salary: 150,000 FCFA

Job Purpose
To provide financial and administration support to Green DEALL, a non-profit and research organization that addresses challenges at the intersection of development and environmental protection, including human-wildlife conflicts, climate change, and land and resource degradation. The Finance and Administration Officer will be responsible for day-to-day financial management, accounting, and administrative tasks under the supervision of the Executive Director.
Main Duties
Financial Management
- Contribute to budget planning, revision, and monitoring.
- Prepare, track, and maintain registers and receipts.
- Ensure financial transactions are authorized, recorded, and filed with adequate supporting documentation.
- Prepare employees’ pay slips.
- Manage suppliers and inventories, including orders and delivery invoices.
- Prepare timely and reliable financial updates, reports, and statements.
- Provide reports and information to the Director and Treasurer as required.
- Support Green DEALL’s financial audits.
- Assist with updating and enforcing financial policies.
Administration
- Manage administrative operations and errands.
- Perform digital and physical archiving of documents.
- Assist in organizing meetings and drafting meeting reports.
- Assist in preparing Green DEALL’s activity and project reports.
- Ensure proper record-keeping of program, project, and administrative activities.
- Assist staff with travel and lodging arrangements.
- Assist with administrative policy development and enforcement.
- Coordinate visa issuance and other arrangements for foreign visitors.
- Ensure proper welcome arrangements for foreign visitors.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Director.
Person Specifications
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Public Administration from a recognized educational institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in the above areas with additional relevant experience is also accepted.
Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in Finance and Administration.
- Experience in accounting/bookkeeping, preferably with computerized accountancy systems.
- Experience in data recording and monitoring, preferably with electronic data recording systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Accuracy in reporting detailed financial information.
- Strong computing skills and proficiency in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and web-based management systems (SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
- Confidence in liaising with external organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Ability to manage resources efficiently and effectively, adhering to principles of accountability and integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritize workload, manage competing tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel locally and to rural areas as required.
Languages
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proficiency in French is an added advantage.
