ECOBANK CAMEROUN S.A. seeks to hire an Information Systems Controller who is prepared to operate throughout the country.
The role will be situated in Douala.
Job level: 5 – Job grade: 3B
JOB PURPOSE
To bolster the bank’s management of risks and controls within its systems, ensuring continuous monitoring of Information Security controls in collaboration with relevant stakeholders to mitigate inherent risks.
JOB CONTEXT
This position will report to the Head of Risks and Internal Control. The incumbent must demonstrate a track record of translating internal control mandates into tangible business practices and solutions that align with growth and strategic objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Head office & Branch Control:
- Plan and implement risk-focused checks across the entire information infrastructure (comprising networks, telecommunications, hardware, operating systems, databases, business applications deployed within the subsidiary, business continuity plan, procedures, processes, etc.).
- Monitor and document IT risks identified during the inspections.
- Deploy measures to identify and forecast potential revenue losses, followed by suggesting action plans for resolution.
- Assist in addressing automation requirements for other controllers.
- Evaluate alerts generated by anti-fraud mechanisms and operational losses associated with the information infrastructure, and then propose remedial actions and preventive measures.
- Conduct spontaneous checks on critical business applications and processes.
- Ensure continuous compliance with the IT control strategy.
- Conduct periodic assessments of IT risks in banking operations.
- Administer user profiles within the banking system and all other enterprise applications. Review critical system logs and activity records.
- Evaluate and manage risks linked with new products and services.
- Present control discoveries and recommendations for corrective actions to Senior Management. Fulfill any additional responsibilities delegated by the Head of Group Information Systems Control. Undertake any other duties as directed by the affiliate’s Risk and Internal Control Head.
JOB PROFILE
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Internal Control, Information Technology, or Internal Audit within the commercial banking sector or an audit firm.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Business, Economics, or Banking.
Skills, Capabilities & Personal Attributes
- Analytical Skills
- Proficiency in Excel and/or Access.
- Familiarity with core banking databases, particularly FLEXCUBE.
- Extensive knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language).
- Understanding of banking operations and accounting, especially PCEC in CEMAC Zone, would be advantageous.
