Leiden University Excellence Scholarship (LExS) in Netherlands 2024

Leiden University, a leading research university in the Netherlands, is offering the Leiden University Excellence Scholarship (LExS) for outstanding international students from non-EEA countries. This prestigious scholarship supports students pursuing full-time Master’s programs at Leiden University.

Eligibility

To be considered for the LExS, applicants must:

• Be a non-EEA passport holder
• Have a record of exceptional academic achievements in their previous studies
• Have applied and been admitted to an eligible Master’s program at Leiden University (excluding LLM programs, Master’s at Leiden Law School, and February intakes at the Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Science, and Leiden Law School)

Scholarship Benefits

LExS scholarships offer three levels of financial support:

• €10,000 tuition fee reduction
• €15,000 tuition fee reduction
• Full tuition fee waiver (excluding the statutory tuition fee)

Application Deadline: The deadline to apply for the LExS is October 1st, 2024.

How to Apply

1. Submit an online application for an eligible Master’s program at Leiden University.
2. After submitting your admission application, return to your application portal and click on “Scholarships.” If you meet the LExS eligibility criteria, the option to apply will appear.
3. Submit a motivation letter (maximum 500 words, PDF format) highlighting your academic achievements, career aspirations, and why you should be considered for the scholarship.

Successful applicants will be notified by email by the end of November 2024.
