GENERAL JOB INFORMATION

  • Reporting to: Head of Asset Management
  • Job Grade: 4B
  • Direct Reports: Sales Teams

Ecobank Cameroon is recruiting a Head of Sales to To join their team.

JOB PURPOSE

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Managing Director of the Asset Management Unit, contributing to the expansion of Assets Under Management (AUM) and the overall growth of the business and revenue in a profitable, cost-efficient manner.
  • Understand client investment needs and objectives, identifying opportunities for EDC to offer tailored investment solutions.
  • Aggressively pursue new business opportunities in the Institutional, HNWI, and Retail sectors.
  • Support and effectively manage the sales teams to ensure consistent AUM and revenue growth.
  • Coordinate the Wealth Management segment by engaging with Financial Planners and Relationship Managers.

  • The role demands a customer-centric, network-oriented approach, with the ability to escalate issues to the Managing Director, ensuring strong client relationships and high-quality service.
  • The role requires efficient management of sales initiatives and market intelligence, including trends and competition.
  • Strong supervision, team management, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with Ecobank Unit Heads to drive AUM and revenue growth.
  • The role involves selling investment solutions and developing marketing initiatives to enhance AUM.
  • Oversee marketing and media campaigns, as well as manage retail, corporate, and HNI heads within the Sales Unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES [not more than 8 – 10]

  • Achieve sales targets and performance goals by leveraging available resources effectively.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy and implementation plan.
  • Own market intelligence, focusing on trends, competition, and sales team updates.
  • Manage all business aspects to ensure continuous AUM and revenue growth.
  • Resolve client issues promptly to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue specific initiatives to acquire new business.
  • Engage with and qualify new prospects, including cold calling and following up on marketing leads.
  • Develop and deliver responses to inquiries from prospects and clients.
  • Arrange and conduct one-on-one meetings with prospects.
  • Organize and present key product offerings to prospective clients.
  • Manage sales opportunities from initial contact to contract closure.
  • Negotiate and finalize new business contracts.
  • Collaborate with various Ecobank banking groups to plan and execute marketing activities and communications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing or a related field, with SEC licensing.

Experience:

  • 6 to 10 years of sales/marketing experience with a strong sales record, particularly in investment product sales.
  • Ability to interact with clients and make basic decisions independently.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Investment and Banking sectors.
  • Familiarity with a range of asset classes.
  • Customer-focused and results-driven.
  • Ability to coordinate various resources to deliver customer solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are highly valued.
  • Results-oriented, inclusive, flexible, and culturally sensitive.
