Job Summary

Impact Santé Afrique (ISA) is an African NGO headquartered in Cameroon, dedicated to enhancing public health by executing transformative and sustainable programs aimed at saving lives and enhancing community health (for further details, please visit www.impactsante.org). ISA manages the global platform of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for malaria elimination (CS4ME). We are seeking an Advocacy Specialist or Communications professional to develop advocacy materials for our malaria and community health advocacy program.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will spearhead the creation and execution of ISA’s advocacy strategies. This role involves leading comprehensive initiatives in policy analysis, engagement, advocacy, campaigning, and influence at national and international levels to achieve substantial outcomes.

 

Program Design and Implementation

  1. Contribute to steering the organization’s strategic direction, decision-making, efficiency, and growth while maintaining ISA’s brand image.
  2. Develop and oversee the implementation of the advocacy strategic plan.
  3. Formulate policy and advocacy initiatives to ensure alignment with regional and global priorities.
  4. Oversee operational strategy implementation, focusing on integrated advocacy and communication campaigns for impactful transformation at policy and community levels.
  5. Foster strategic partnerships, networks, and alliances with stakeholders across sectors, including government entities, political figures, and the private sector.
  6. Identify critical gaps and opportunities in public policies for ISA’s advocacy interventions to drive significant change.
  7. Utilize ISA’s advocacy successes and innovations to influence policymakers and enhance malaria programs.
  8. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality campaigns aligned with global and national advocacy priorities.
  9. Ensure advocacy program targets are met in Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Supporting ISA Growth

  1. Identify key advocacy gaps and opportunities where ISA’s approach can effect meaningful change.
  2. Craft compelling influencing communications and advocacy project proposals aligned with organizational priorities and donor specifications.
  3. Uphold reporting standards, ensuring quality and timeliness in line with donor and ISA guidelines.
 

Qualifications

  1. Possess a Master’s degree in Communications, Advocacy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  2. Accumulate a minimum of 8 years of experience in Communication or Advocacy roles.
  3. Demonstrate exceptional English writing skills alongside proficient French language abilities.
  4. Exhibit adaptability in working within international and multicultural settings.
  5. Display comprehensive knowledge of advocacy issues and strategies, with experience or familiarity with African and international associative networks.
  6. Showcase excellent verbal and written communication prowess, including report drafting, to produce professional-grade documents for national and international audiences and engage in policy discussions.
  7. Exhibit outstanding relationship management, negotiation, and influencing capabilities to foster productive partnerships with colleagues, government officials, partners, community members, donors, and other stakeholders.
  8. Embody a positive and dynamic attitude conducive to effective team collaboration and project execution.
  9. Possess strong organizational skills and work methodology, capable of prioritizing tasks, coordinating team efforts, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  10. Willingness to travel internationally as part of the role’s requirements.
