Local Youth Corner Cameroon (LOYOC) is a national, youth-led NGO dedicated to empowering young people and promoting peace. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Project Officer to join our team in Bamenda.
About the Role: As a Project Officer, you will play a crucial role in implementing and managing our projects in the North West Region. You will collaborate with stakeholders, coordinate project activities, and ensure timely and effective project delivery. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to contribute to our mission and make a real impact in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement project activities in line with project plans and objectives
- Monitor and evaluate project progress
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Prepare project reports and documentation
- Contribute to the development of new project proposals
Project Officer: Youth, Peace, and Security Initiative
Purpose: The Project Officer, under the guidance of the Regional Programs Manager, will play a pivotal role in driving LOYOC’s collaboration with the Dallaire Institute. This initiative focuses on empowering youth as peacebuilders in Cameroon. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of LOYOC’s operational framework. This role demands close collaboration with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate project activities across stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Implementation and Monitoring: Oversee the implementation of project activities, monitor progress against targets, and identify and address any roadblocks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Partnership Management: Foster strong working relationships with the Dallaire Institute, project partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and maximize project impact.
- Reporting and Evaluation: Prepare regular progress reports, documenting project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. Contribute to the development and implementation of project evaluation frameworks.
- Communication and Advocacy: Represent the project in relevant forums, promoting LOYOC’s work and advocating for youth engagement in peace and security initiatives.
