WWF Cameroon is Recruiting: Field Biologist Interns (02 Investigators)
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Cameroon is seeking to hire two (02) Field Biologist Interns to support an ongoing socio-economic research project. The selected candidates will work under the supervision of the Congo Basin Impact Monitoring Coordinator and in direct collaboration with the PhD student leading this study.
Position Objective
The primary goal of this recruitment is to engage two investigators who will be responsible for collecting socio-economic data within targeted communities in the TRIDOM-Cameroon landscape, using both qualitative and quantitative research methods adapted to local contexts.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Selected investigators will be expected to provide:
- Completed questionnaires and data collection forms
- Field reports and supervision sheets
- Qualitative observations and notes
- Audio and/or video recordings from field interactions
Required Profile & Qualifications
Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) or Master’s degree (BAC+5) in Social Sciences, Forestry, Agro-economics, or any related field
- Demonstrate excellent written and spoken communication skills in French and/or English
- Possess proven experience in similar socio-economic studies (references to previous assignments required)
- Have a solid understanding of the TRIDOM-Cameroon region and prior fieldwork experience in the area
- Be proficient in data collection tools and socio-economic research methodologies
- Knowledge of local languages (e.g., Bulu, Baka) will be an added advantage

Location of Work
The assignment will take place in TRIDOM-Cameroon, specifically within the Eastern Region, covering the Boumba-et-Ngoko and Haut-Nyong departments.
Duration
The data collection mission will span two (2) weeks, starting from the contract signature date.
Supervision & Reporting
The investigators will work under the direct supervision of the PhD student leading the study at WWF Cameroon.
