Position: Quality Assurance Manager (M/F)
Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage quality control processes at our wheat milling operations. This pivotal role involves ensuring compliance with ISO standards, maintaining raw material quality, overseeing in-process checks, and guaranteeing that finished products meet or exceed regulatory and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop, implement, and sustain a robust Quality Management System in compliance with ISO standards.
- Ensure alignment with food safety regulations and industry best practices.
2. Raw Material Quality Control:
- Define and enforce quality protocols for incoming materials.
- Collaborate with suppliers to guarantee the consistent quality of wheat and other raw materials.
- Conduct regular supplier audits to monitor adherence to quality benchmarks.
3. Formulation Oversight:
- Supervise formulation processes to meet product specifications.
- Partner with production teams to refine formulations for optimal quality and efficiency.
- Leverage data analysis to identify and implement improvements in formulations.
4. In-Process Quality Assurance:
- Monitor production workflows to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards at each stage.
- Establish and manage testing protocols to address quality deviations early.
- Train production teams on best practices in quality assurance.
5. Finished Product Quality:
- Design and enforce testing protocols for finished goods to validate quality specifications.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and perform laboratory tests on final products.
- Lead investigations and recalls for quality-related incidents, if necessary.
6. Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain detailed records of quality activities, including test results, audits, and corrective measures.
- Generate quality performance reports for senior management.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with regulatory requirements.
7. Team Leadership and Training:
- Lead and mentor the quality assurance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Organize training sessions to enhance staff knowledge on quality standards and processes.
8. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and evolving regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in quality assurance within the milling or food production industry.
- Expertise:
- Proficient in ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 22000) and food safety regulations.
- Strong knowledge of wheat milling processes and formulation techniques.
- Skills:
- Exceptional analytical capabilities to interpret and act on data.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in quality management software and tools.
