The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was established as a government-funded agency dedicated to grant aid programs in April 1991. KOICA Endeavors to combat Poverty and support Socio- Economic growth of partner countries. In doing so, KOICA establishes and strengthens friendly ties with developing countries.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Cameroon office is recruiting a Program Officer.
SCOPE OF WORK
Project Managing Assistant: Health-related Sector
- Coordinate with all stakeholders in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the project that the KOICA Cameroon office is implementing in health-related sectors;
- Assist tasks of experts from Korea including preliminary field study, coordination of their schedule and support for the implementation of their tasks/activities before/during their dispatch
- Support activities related to baseline survey as well as the establishment of project design matrix
- Support analysis of the overall context for project implementation, including project site, stakeholders, case studies of similar projects, and risk-managing aspects
- Any other task assigned by supervisors
(c) KOICA health-related projects ongoing in Cameroon
1) Project for Building of Emergency Medical Services System in Cameroon(2023-2028);
2) The Project for the Improvement of Water and Sanitation in Rural Areas in Cameroon(2019-2025); 3) NTDs Control through Community-Based WASH improvement in Centre Hegion. Cameroon(2022- 2024)
Project Managing Assistant: Other Sectors(Governance, etc)

- Assist tasks of experts from Korea including preliminary field study, coordination of their schedule and support for the implementation of their tasks/activities before/during their dispatch
- Support communication aspects with the governments and beneficiaries and monitoring aspects for ongoing and completed projects:
- Support risk analysis and monitoring activities for ongoing projects:
- Any other task assigned by supervisors
Knowledge Management and ETC
- Conduct analysis on law/regulation/policy of key cooperation sectors of the KOICA Cameroon Country Plan(CP);
- Participate in donor coordination meetings of key cooperation sectors and keep networks with key implementation partners and specialized agencies in the country;
- Provide administrative support when necessary for the office operation
PREREQUISITES
DEGREE AND EXPERIENCES
1) At least University degree in Health, Social Sciences or related field
2) (Preferred) Working experience with other Donor organisations, agencies
LANGUAGES
Fluent in written and spoken English and French. Knowledge of Korean would be an asset.
SKILLS
1) Good computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, other applications of wide usage
2) Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skill
CONDITIONS OF SERVICES
Remuneration will be based on the criteria according to the prevailing local market rates and based on KOICA Cameroon Office’s internal remuneration calculation system. In addition, it can be adjusted based on the applicant’s experiences.
