Role and Responsibilities: 

As a Software Engineer at Afriland First Bank, you will contribute to the development of robust, secure, and user-friendly software solutions that enhance our digital banking services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain applications. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Developing high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software using Java, Angular, and React.
• Collaborating with product managers and designers to translate requirements into functional solutions.
• Write unit and integration test.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets industry standards.
• Integrating third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality.
• Participating in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure best practices.
• Troubleshooting and resolving software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Contributing to the design and architecture of software applications.
• Participating in Agile development methodologies and ensuring timely delivery of features.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong focus on Java, Angular, and React.
• Proficiency in Java programming and related frameworks (e.g., Spring).
• Experience developing user interfaces using Angular and React.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
• Knowledge of web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in the financial industry or a related domain.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and cybersecurity principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Exposure to mobile app development (iOS/Android).
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contributions to open-source projects or relevant certifications.
