JOB DESCRIPTION

The Auditor – Technology/Internal Audit and Forensics is responsible for conducting comprehensive internal audits focusing on technology-related areas (such as technology controls and information security) that carry high priority and risk. They also manage internal audits with low to medium priority and risk, specifically related to technology, in accordance with the audit plan and the standards and methodologies established by the Internal Audit and Forensics Function. Additionally, they analyze, monitor, and report on technology security controls, technology risk management, and the effectiveness of internal audits. They provide recommendations for improvement and ensure that internal audit processes and systems are robust enough to identify and mitigate risks. The Auditor also assists in the development of internal processes and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Managing Internal Audits:
  • Overseeing internal audits on technology, focusing on low to medium risk/priority areas.
  • Ensuring alignment with the audit plan and adhering to the standards and methodologies set by the Internal Audit and Forensics Function.
  1. Analysis, Monitoring, and Reporting:
  • Performing analysis, monitoring, and reporting on technology security controls.
  • Assessing technology risk management and evaluating the effectiveness of internal audits.
  • Providing recommendations for improvements based on findings.
  1. Robust Internal Audit Processes:
  • Ensuring that internal audit processes and systems are robust enough to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Assisting in the development of internal processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience:

  1. Internal Audit Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in internal audit, with a specific focus on technology audits.
  • Advantageous to have experience in supervising others.
  • Experience working in a medium-sized organization.

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree:
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (B.Eng.) or Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Computer Science.
  • Preferred: 4-year Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Science degree.
  1. Language Skills:
  • Fluent in English with a basic command of French.

Industry/Certifications:

  1. Professional Qualification:
  • Possession of a professional qualification in Information Systems Auditing or other relevant audit certifications is advantageous.
  • Examples of certifications include CISA, CRISC, CISM, CIA, CISSP, CPA, or CMA.

Others

  • Having knowledge and experience in developing and programming queries/scripts using various data analytics software and visualization tools (such as SQL, Python, Power BI, etc.) is advantageous.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the Internal Audit mission, definition, and core principles.
  • Familiarity with IT and Network enterprise architecture.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity testing and auditing.
